She said look closer

We warmly invite you to the gallery at the Kunstgebäude for the opening of “SHE SAID: LOOK CLOSER” by the Stuttgart local group of the Female Photoclub, as part of the Stuttgart Photo Summer 2026.

The exhibition presents an artistic exploration of social and personal ruptures, change, and ambiguity. The central theme of the Photo Summer, “Disorder,” is understood here as a productive state – as a driving force for new perspectives and creative freedom.

The group exhibition, featuring ten professional photographers, invites visitors to take a closer look: at images and lived realities that are often overlooked in everyday life. The works, ranging from documentary to experimental approaches, reflect the diversity of FLINTA* perspectives. (FLINTA* = women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans, and agender people).

The focus is on themes such as identity, the body, memory, and belonging. “SHE SAID: LOOK CLOSER” positions itself as a contribution to a pluralistic photographic narrative and challenges established visual orders in favor of new narratives. Accompanying formats such as artist talks and guided tours create space for exchange and turn the exhibition into a place of encounter and reflection, an environment in which disorder is not resolved, but celebrated as an expression of diversity, vitality, and change.
